Celebrating Valentine's Day

2/16/2014

Hi everyone! I hope that all of you had a lovely valentine's day! This year Marc and I decided to plan a little staycation so that we could spend a little time on our own. So we booked a room downtown at The Wit and made reservations for dinner at Union Sushi.

We were able to check into the room early which was great. We ordered lunch from Wow Bao which was really yummy. Marc had the teriyaki chicken bao and I had an asian veggie + chicken salad with a really great Thai iced coffee. We then explored the hotel for a bit and tried some beers in the bar. Afterwards we went back to the room and watched movies and snuggled. We also ordered room service and had really great wings and fries. Our dinner reservations were at 9:30PM by which time we were both a little beat and not to mention stuffed! But we got ourselves out of our comfy bed and headed over to Union Sushi. We only stayed for a very short time because the restaurant was way too hot and crowded, plus the sushi wasn't that impressive. So a little grumpy we headed back to the hotel. To relax at the end of the night I decided to take advantage of our oversized tub. Huge tubs are one of my favorite things! I filled it with jasmine scented  bubbles and threw on some Joyce Jonathan, the only other thing I could have used was a nice glass of wine! We left a bit early the next morning and Marc picked up lunch for us after we got home.

As much as I enjoyed the great food and the hotel I have to say my favorite part was watching TV and snuggling in bed with Marc. It's the simple things in life that I often find the most meaningful. Nothing beats an "I love you" and a kiss on the forehead.

How did you spend your valentine's day?
Happy Sunday!

    1. Thanks Alissa! I hope you treated yourself to a little chocolate! I have a single friend who dedicates the day to herself. She eats chocolates, takes a bubble bath, and watches her favorite movies. Which to me sounds like a pretty awesome way to spend the day!
